The Vicars Close Major Restoration and Conservation Project.
We are currently undertaking major restoration and conservation works at Vicars Close in Wells. Houses on Vicars Close date back to the C14th, built to accommodate the Vicars Choral at Wells Cathedral. Once completed, parts of the street will open as an innovative new visitors attraction.

In brief, we are currently undertaking external repairs to the properties of Vicars Close including Vicars Hall and Vicars Chapel. Urgent repairs include re-roofing, wall conservation, exterior joinery repairs to include doors and windows, landscaping and drainage improvements. Some properties require internal reordering.
